I have finished the second part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and it was quite the journey. The environments are beautifully realized. Seeing Kalm, Gongaga, Junon, and the Golden Saucer fully realized was a treat. All of the environments were highly detailed and immersive. The music is as evocative as the original. Building on the already excellent score of Remake ([[2025-05-27-final-fantasy-7-remake-intergrade]]), the soundtrack is sprawling and oftentimes playful with the source material in surprising ways. I have mixed feelings about the combat in the game. It has an odd real time system. I switched over to the "classic" style, however I really didn't hate or love the combat in the game. I hope you like mini games because there are many and they are often. You get at least 1 tutorial for every couple hours of play. I found most of the mini-games to be fun. The piano mini game was my least favorite of the bunch. You will need to play all of them well to get the most out of the game/quests. I'd give it a 9/10. I loved it and look forward to the final installment of this remake series.
